Get ready, Feildel is on his way

TICKETS are running out for the Oxford Hotel’s five course dinner with TV chef personality Manu Feildel.

Mr Feildel is best known for his regular appearances on the cooking show, Ready Steady Cook and is executive chef at Sydney’s famous Bilson’s restaurant.

The meal will be held September 12 at 7pm and there are only a limited number of tickets left.

Mr Feildel said he was looking forward to meeting food lovers from the Bathurst Region.

“It will be my first time [visiting Bathurst]. It’s one excuse to see a little bit more of Australia,” Mr Feildel said.

“Travelling around Australia for my job is fantastic. I love to share my knowledge with Australians and vice versa.”

He said he was looking forward to working with the local chefs on the night.

“I like to work with young Australian chefs and obviously a lot of people want to meet chefs from Ready, Steady, Cook so I like that too,” he laughed.

Mr Feildel’s menu includes cannelon of cucumber with salmon tartare for the canape, a cold entree of spanner crab with a chilled almond gaspacho, roasted partridge ‘en salmis’ for the hot entree, slow roasted rump of venison with pumpkin and liquorice puree and juniper berry jus for the main and an assiette of dark bitter chocolate for dessert.

Each meal will be matched with a local wine.

The five course dinner will be held at Bistro Piper at the Oxford Tavern and tickets are $120 per person. Bookings at Bistro Piper.
