Young team takes honours

AUSTRALIAN RULES

A new look Bathurst Bushrangers under 14 side played Cowra last Saturday at George Park with Bathurst taking first round honours.

It was a demolition with Bathurst dominating all over the ground.

Star midfielder Innes Smith led the way, kicking four goals, backed up by new recruit Marshall Williams kicking three, B Phillips two,Connor Millis two and C McDonald also contributing to the score.

Bathurst won convincingly kicking 12-22 -94 to Cowra's 0-2-2.

All the new recruits delivered well beyond expectation.

The Metro Cinemas Player's Player award went to Jordan Price, competing in his first game for the Bushies.

Tomorrow is the Rivalry Round and in a replay of last year's grand final Bathurst take on the OrangeTigers at their new home ground, and it is expected to be a much tighter contest.

Kick-off is at 9am. This match, together with being part of the 150 year celebrations for Australian rules, will make for a very exciting day.
